Research efforts on PFAS are needed to fully understand their impact and reduces PFAS risks to the public
Exposure to per- and polyfluorialkyl substances (PFAS) has been evaluated for volunteer firefighters in New Jersey by Graber and coworkers. The study has shown higher level of these pollutants in their bodies than the general population.
These chemicals are very persistent in the environment and in the human body: they can accumulate over time and may lead to adverse health effects.
